For those of you who haven’t heard of Marie Dalgar Cosmetics, GET READY as it about to be Launch in Australia exclusively to Sephora. You will definitely feel as though you have been missing out on an array of makeup kit essentials. A trend sensitive Chinese cosmetics range, Marie Dalgar Cosmetics is releasing their holographic first collection called Holo; a 10-shade eyeshadow palette, 3 shade highlighter and 6 mini lipstick kit inspired by illusion, future and polarized holographic colours.

Marie Dalgar is a cruelty free cosmetic brand defined by innovation, technology, originality & colour. Masa Cui the creative mastermind and soul behind the brand with her unique sense of vision coming from an engineer background fused with her passion for art & beauty, she strives for constant innovation, artistic concept and the integration of inspiration in each product. The brand has collaborated and exhibited with established Chinese fashion designers, artists and performers. They are the first brand I have heard of that built a robot, and even went to in-depth lengths to invent an eyeshadow applicator scientifically sized to the average Chinese woman’s eyelid shape to maximise convenience. she has committed to building the brand over 10 years with over 14 000 franchises worldwide to show for it along with numerous awards and press. I fell in love with the brand and from 11th Oct I know the rest of the cosmetic market will too.

Eyeshadow palette

For the packaging lovers out there, you will first fall in love with the unique 3D printed case, definitely an collectables item. when you open it, you will be dazzled and dared to try the arrange of sci fi colours in a selection of contrasting cold and warm fluorescent tones. Creamy and dreamy with delicate pearls, use dry for something more wearable and natural or my preference is spraying the brush with water or using an eye primer to maximise the prismatic and translucent 3d holographic effect, layering multiple colours for a fashion forward finish.
Don’t despair for the clumsy out there the soft plasticine texture means if you drop the palette it doesn’t hurt your bank account you just knead the product back in. But most importantly the smooth and comfortable texture is skin friendly, long lasting and even has moisturising qualities.

Highlighter Palette

Admittedly when I first saw this I thought what an interesting choice of colours for a contouring kit; yellow pink and purple. However, to my surprise this was one of my favourite products from the range. Silky to touch & long lasting, the application positively unpredictable, shows the effects of a holographic gradient in such a wearable way that people won’t believe you are using lilac to highlight their cheekbones. The weightless powder hybrid works brilliantly as singular colours placed where desired, however I dare you to mix and layer them as they were intended. You will get an array of undertones glowing in every frame. The versatility, wearability and multifunctionality of this product makes it value for money and not one person at the Sephora event in whom I tried it on was disappointed with the effect.

Mini Lipstick kit

True to brand DNA the innovative and 3D prismatic packaging won’t let you down. A collision of mistiness and light the 4+2 mix and match (4 x holographic colours + 2 natural glow colours) offer you a playground of eye catching lip options from a metal finish using lip balm and a layering of holographic colours for the more conservative type or full prismatic 3D effect by applying over a matte lipstick giving your next mermaid or festival inspired look its finishing touch. For my bold friends my favourite was to layer the holographic colours over a matte black lip, or for the editorial makeup artists this is my new go to eye shine for photographic. Made from natural beeswax, & extremely smooth these bad boys are a must have for any occasion & activity giving you full control and versatility over your makeup looks.
